We all know the exercises where children excel due to their imagination and creativity. This example of thinking without a box is a typical example.
Imagine a set of 9 dots surrounded by a square or rectangle and you are asked to connect all the dots without lifting your pen.
Most of you will try to stay within the square or rectangle and find a solution.
However, children and creative people will neglect the square or rectangle and find a better solution which makes it possible to use fewer line segments.
